Combining 50 years of experience with state of the art computer programs, TURNBULL'S engineering department achieves solutions tailored to the needs of its customers. TURNBULL supplies furniture components that are lightweight, have improved strength and complete system integration.

Initial customer requirements are evaluated by engineers who develop complete pictures from which potential solutions are carefully evaluated. Solid 3D models are then used to obtain prime component integration, optimum ergonomic function and design which incorporate the specifications of the customer.

When required, intricate mechanisms and component relationships are computer modeled and examined using animated simulations. These simulations derive environmental scenarios to provide accurate data for Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Engineering, design and drafting are united in a multi-seat network in Turnbull's drafting and design department which integrates the most current CADD programs with standard business software used throughout the company.

This allows teamwork between customers and Turnbull's engineering staff during the design process. The 3D rendering of solid models and end use environments supports the research, development, and marketing of new products.

In the manufacturing process, CAD/CAM software is utilized to complete the integration of models and drawings with machines on the shop floor.
